Keep it Real Vegetables Garlic Scapes
These garlic scapes come to us from Keep it Real Vegetables, a regenerative urban farming project in Layton, Utah! After operating an urban backyard farming operation in Salt Lake City for 13 years, they transitioned to a larger, more permanent single-farm location in 2024. Their produce is grown by hand on roughly two acres of historical farmland near the shore of the Great Salt Lake. They adhere strictly to organic growing practices, enriching their soils with compost, compost teas, cover crops, and organic amendments until the soil is sweet enough to deliver the highest quality flavor.
Garlic scapes are the curly green stalks that grow from hardneck garlic plants in late spring and early summer. They’re harvested before the plant flowers so the garlic bulb underground can continue to grow, which means scape season is short and highly anticipated. Their flavor is distinctly garlicky but much milder and fresher than mature garlic cloves, with a slight sweetness and grassiness that makes them incredibly sought after. They can be grilled, sautéed, used for pesto, or chopped raw into dressings and compound butters!
Capriole Goat Cheese Old Kentucky Tomme
Capriole Goat Cheese was founded in 1988 in Greenville, Indiana, and has grown into one of the most respected artisan cheesemakers in the United States, known for its innovative aged goat cheeses. Their Old Kentucky Tomme is a semi-soft, aged goat’s milk cheese crafted in the style of a French tomme. It features a natural bloomy rind and a pale, smooth paste when young that softens to a shiny, creamy texture with age. Buttery and rich with mild cellar and mushroom notes, the flavor deepens over time with a subtle, lively tang. The rind darkens and becomes crustier with maturation, while the interior develops a complexity reminiscent of a classic Fontina. Old Kentucky Tomme is celebrated as one of the first aged goat cheeses made in the U.S.
Sequatchie Cove Shakerag Blue
Sequatchie Cove Creamery is a creamery in Tennessee’s Sequatchie Valley, founded with a focus on sustainable agriculture and handcrafted cheeses. Hands-on production methods have made them one of the most respected artisan cheesemakers in the South. Shakerag Blue is wrapped in locally harvested fig leaves that are soaked in Tennessee’s own Chattanooga Whiskey before aging. The soaked leaves help create a beautifully earthy aroma and lend subtle woodsy, smoky notes. The flavor is rich and complex, combining flavors of root beer, bacon, dark chocolate, and tropical fruit. Try it paired with rye bread and bacon or a pour of whiskey or dessert wine.
Birdy’s Provisions Spicy Yellow Mustard
Birdy’s Provisions is a small-batch mustard company rooted in traditional recipes that rely on just a few simple ingredients to highlight the flavor of the mustard seed without the use of preservatives or additives. Their Spicy Yellow Mustard takes the classic deli-style mustard profile and gives it a sharper kick. This condiment is punchy without overwhelming the palate. It’s smooth and spreadable, making it perfect for everything from sandwiches and burgers to dressings and marinades. It’s the kind of condiment adds a little extra character to simple meals!
Blanxart Milk Chocolate
Blanxart’s Milk Chocolate is a smooth, creamy bar crafted in Barcelona using single-origin cocoa and traditional methods that date back to the company’s founding in 1954. With rich cocoa flavor balanced by a mellow sweetness, it’s a more grown-up take on classic milk chocolate. It’s full-bodied, but not overly sweet. The texture is silky and satisfying, making it just as enjoyable for everyday snacking as it is for pairing with fruit, nuts, or a cup of coffee.
